Ennis donates to Police Department

Prince Edward County Commonwealth's Attorney, Jim Ennis, provided the Farmville Police Department with $4,500 this Spring to aid in the purchase of new computer hardware and software that will enhance the department's abilities to prepare cases for prosecution.  The money came from the Commonwealth's Attorney's Forfeited Asset Fund, which has accumulated over the years from the seizure and forfeiture of property used in the connection with the distribution of narcotics, or which represent the proceeds of drug sales.  Shown here  (left to right) is Capt. L. Wade Stimpson, Hon. James Ennis, Lt. Andy Ellington, and Chief Doug Mooney.

OPERATION BLUE CHRISTMAS
On December 21st Officers T.A. Long, Jr. and Chris Riviere, along with Chief Doug Mooney, went Christmas shopping with two area youngsters.  Wal-Mart manager Harold Walker donated two $100 gift cards to be used for the shopping spree.  Officer Long spearheaded this effort as a way to reach out to area children who might have otherwise had a bleak Christmas.
