Centra Southside Community Hospital is a state-of-the-art medical facility that has been the healthcare center of Southside Virginia since 1927. With over 450 experienced, highly trained employees, Southside Community Hospital is committed to meeting the needs of the community through quality cost effective healthcare, delivered by a progressive, highly-trained medical staff and an efficient, friendly workforce.

The Town is also served by the Prince Edward County Health Department (VHD-Piedmont Health District) located on the ground floor of the Courthhouse Building, at 111 South Street, in the Town of Farmville.

There are more than 60 physicians located within the Town limits.
