Centra Southside Community Hospital is a state-of-the-art medical facility that has been the healthcare center of Southside Virginia since 1927. Centra PACE - a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly.  PACE is a comprehensive program for adults 55 years of age and older who meet the criteria for nursing facility placement, prefer to stay at home and have an assessment indicating that living at home with the support of the PACE program is a safe alternative.  PACE is located at 1506 South Main Street, Farmville, VA.

The Town is also served by the Prince Edward County Health Department (VHD-Piedmont Health District) located on the ground floor of the Courthhouse Building, at 111 South Street, Farmville, VA.
